Warner Beach crash leaves two children seriously injured

At 12h46 on Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a head-on collision at the intersection of Hawthorn and Kingsway Roads in Warmer Beach. Reports from the drivers indicate that they tried to avoid a vehicle that crossed their path, when they swerved to avoid him they collided with each other. Exact detail to the crash will however remain a subject for the South African Police to investigate.

Netcare 911 paramedics their rescue unit, the fire department and several other services arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles. The injured were found at the roadside with members of the public attending to them. Staring on the windscreens of both vehicles indicate that the occupants had been unrestrained, paramedics urge people to please buckle up as this will dramatically reduce the injuries.

After medics triaged the patients it was found that two children aged six and two and a half as well as three adult’s sustained serious injuries. Medics stabilised the injured at the scene before transporting them to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
