March 19, 2016 • Accidents, Pedestrain

A man has been left with serious injuries after being struck by a light motor vehicle on the Moreland Millennium Bridge in Umhlanga Ridge, north of Durban this morning.

Crisis Medical paramedics arrived on scene to find the man lying in the roadway having sustained head injuries.
Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize him before he was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not suffer any injury in the ordeal.

Reports from the scene suggest the man was struck whilst attempting to cross the busy roadway out of a designated pedestrian crossing.

We urge all pedestrians to cross only where it is safe to do so and to be aware of other road users to prevent further tragedies.

The man remains in a serious but stable condition.
