Man critically injured after vehicle crashes, catches alight
A man was critically injured when the vehicle he was driving caught alight after crashing into trees on the N7 in Goodwood, Cape Town, early this morning.
ER24, Life Healthcare and other services attended to the incident.
It is understood that the passenger removed the man from the vehicle.
Paramedics treated the man and transported him to hospital. The passenger was uninjured.
At the same time, a car collided with a taxi in the lane in the opposite direction of travel.
Upon assessment of the patients from the car it was found that two women sustained moderate injuries. They were also treated and transported to hospital.
The third occupant in this vehicle, a man, and the taxi driver were uninjured.
The exact cause of the incidents are unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
