This morning at 04h55 Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision on the N1 in Pretoria near Pyramid . Reports from the scene indicate that a truck had lost a load of vegetables across the roadway, a vehicle with two adults and two children aged five and ten slid on the slippery road and overturned.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with the vegetables, accident debris and the twisted frame of the vehicle. After triaging the injured medics only found one child and two adults. The ten-year-old girl and an adult lady were in a critical condition while the male miraculously escaped with minor injuries.

Medics and firemen searched for an hour to find the five-year-old boy that was in the vehicle and in the end found that he had been catapulted out of the vehicle and landed thirty meters above the roadway on a bridge.

Medics stabilised the injured at the scene before they transported them to a specialised hospital for the care that they required.
