One dead, another critically injured after bakkie crashes into tree
One person died and another injured following a crash on the R103 Chieveley, between Colenso and Escort, this evening.
ER24 paramedics and other services attended to the incident.
Upon arrival paramedics found that a bakkie had crashed into a tree. A man who was found laying near the vehicle was assessed and found to be in a critical condition.
He was treated and transported to hospital by ER24. His condition deteriorated while in hospital and he had to be resuscitated.
Despite efforts to save him by staff, the man sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated. He was also in a critical condition. He was attended to by another service.
The exact details surrounding the incident are unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
