The Wanderjahre Programme is an annual exchange initiative between Volkswagen Group South Africa and the Volkswagen Group in Germany. It aims to give one young employee an opportunity to work and live abroad for duration of twelve months.

Keamogetswe Pitsi (Kea) has been chosen out of the numerous internal applications within the Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA), to participate in the admired Wanderjahre Exchange Programme. She is not only the first Audi South Africa employee to achieve this opportunity but she is also the first representative from VWSA’s Sales and Marketing Division.

The programme is intended to give young professionals within VWSA the chance to further develop their knowledge and skills while also providing them with the opportunity for international work experience and exposure within the Volkswagen Group. The official programme will run from May 2018 to April 2019.

Kea holds a Master’s degree in Communication Management and formed part of the Audi Aftersales Marketing team as the Parts and Accessories Programme Specialist. Her new adventure in Wolfsburg, Germany will place her within the Volkswagen Group’s Fleet International department as a Fleet Consultant working across the Group’s portfolio of brands. This role will give her exposure within a new area of Sales and Marketing, specifically within the areas of key account and customer management.

“I am extremely thrilled about this opportunity and it’s an incredible experience which I cannot wait to begin. I am looking forward to meeting new people, learning a new area of the business and familiarising myself within a new culture. Embarking on my basic German language training has been the first obstacle to overcome but I am definitely looking forward to grasping all that this opportunity will include” said Kea Pitsi.

“This is an exciting time for Kea and Audi South Africa. We are breaking boundaries and moulding future leaders through this programme. We are very proud of Kea and her achievement and she represents our commitment to diversify and grow our future talent. We wish her all the best on her adventure and we are confident that she will fly the South African flag high” adds Trevor Hill, Head of Audi South Africa.
