Mothibistad SAPS women members conduct roadblock

NORTHERN CAPE – On Thursday, 29 August 2019, Mothibistad SAPS female members conducted a roadblock with local traffic officials on the N14 road.

As Women’s Month draws to a close, the women felt that they had to ensure that all road users were safe and that all obey the rules of the road. At the same time, an awareness campaign was conducted by distributing domestic violence and sexual offences pamphlets.

A total of 13 Traffic fines were issued for roadworthy vehicles and driving without a driver’s license. The fines issued amounted to R12 500-00.

The Station Commander of Mothibistad, Lieutenant Colonel Didimalang Moetsi applauded the women for ensuring that our motorists are safe on the roads and emphasized that operations of this nature will at all times reduce the number of accidents reported.

The Cluster Commander of JTG cluster, Major General Johan Bean applauded these dedicated and hard-working women. He really led by example by giving them guidance. Hence, so many fines were.
