The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana, led yet another successful multidisciplinary High-Density Operation in Akasia, Tshwane District, where at a roadblock, 23 people were arrested for drunk driving, while over 80 illegal immigrants were apprehended. Furthermore, police closed one liquor outlet for not complying with the Liquor Act and four for possession of drugs. The Provincial Detectives also arrested 1,300 wanted suspects overnight, including 268 for crimes against women and children, while conducting compliance inspections and ensuring visibility around the Akasia policing precinct.
