Elderly Man Robbed: Brindhaven – KZN
An 86-year-old man was robbed by a lone suspect at his residence in Myrtle Place, Brindhaven, KwaZulu-Natal today (Tuesday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call reporting a Robbery In Progress at the property. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and, upon arrival, interviewed the elderly victim.
It was established that the incident had occurred approximately 30 minutes prior to the request for assistance.
It was established that the suspect gained entry to the property by climbing over a boundary fence before accessing the house through an unlocked security gate. The suspect then confronted the pensioner and robbed him of his Samsung cellphone before fleeing the scene. It could not be confirmed whether a weapon was used during the incident.
The victim sustained no injuries.
