Early morning collision leaves 2 injured

August 6, 2013 • Accidents, Car, News

Rescue Care paramedics had an early start to their day this morning when they were called to the intersection of Ordinance Road and Shepstone Road just after 05:30am.
On arrival paramedics found that a single vehicle had collided with a robot before overturning leaving the driver entrapped in the wreckage. One injured passenger was able to climb out of the vehicle before paramedics arrived. Paramedics from Rescue Care and ER24 worked to stabilize the two patients. Once the driver was stabilized the Fire Department utilized special hydraulic equipment to free the trapped driver. The driver was then carefully extricated from the wreckage and placed on specialized equipment. Both men were then transported by ambulance to hospital for further care that they required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.
