Arrest made and large quantity of heroin found in Umlazi

Yesterday, Umlazi Crime Intelligence, Umhlali K9 Unit, PPS K9, and Cavendish Mobile Unit conducted an intelligence driven operation searching for notorious wanted criminals. Police proceeded to AA Section, Umlazi where they found a 28-year-old male who was searched and found to be in possession of 494 straws of heroin, 15 mandrax tablets with the estimated street value of R9 800-00 combined and a laptop.

Another operation by Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Team was conducted in Point area. Police received information about a male suspect (30) in possession of drugs who was on his way to serve a customer in Winder Road, Point. When identified and searched, police found straws of heroin with an estimated street value of R5 000-00 and R270-00 cash suspected to be proceeds of drug trade. He was charged for possession of drugs and is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court today.
