Midrand, – In the world-wide preview, visitors of  the Geneva International Motor Show will get the chance to admire four versions of the new model, representing the extensive range available at launch, with three trim levels (Giulia, Super and Quadrifoglio), two packs (Lusso and Sport), 18 different interior versions as well as 13 body colours. In addition, customers can choose from two types of transmissions (new 8-speed Q-Tronic automatic or 6-speed manual) and three new engines: the 147 KW 2.0-litre TBi engine and the 110 KW or 132 KW (also in ECO version) 2.2-litre JTD, in addition to the already unveiled 375 KW 2.9-litre V6 BiTurbo Petrol engine in the Quadrifoglio version.

Alfa Romeo Giulia

The new Giulia stand’s out for its distinctively Italian design, which is expressed through the impeccable sense of proportions, simplicity and the superior surface quality finish. At the heart of this automotive “creation” sits the driver and his or her desire to enjoy a thrilling driving experience, thanks to sensitive steering, responsive acceleration and prompt shifting and braking.

Choosing rear-wheel drive is more than a simple tribute to the most authentic roots of the Alfa Romeo legend: it is also a technical solution which secures high performance and astounding fun. A further particularity of the Giulia is the optimal weight distribution across the two axles, the sophisticated suspension system (Alfa Romeo patent) and the most direct steering on the market. In addition, the Alfa Romeo Giulia combines extraordinary engine performance and ample use of ultralight materials, like carbon fibre, aluminium, aluminium composite and plastic, to obtain the best weight-to-power ratio (less than 3 in the Quadrifoglio version).

In keeping with Alfa Romeo traditions, the new Giulia offers unique technical solutions that make it the benchmark for its segment. The more sophisticated features include the Integrated Brake System (IBS) for considerably reducing braking distance, and active suspension for exceptional comfort. Exclusive to the Quadrifoglio version, the Torque Vectoring technology affords outstanding stability control, and the Active Aero Splitter provides active high-speed downforce management.

Four versions are on display in Geneva: three Giulia Super and one Giulia Quadrifoglio. Specifically, two of the Giulia Super versions are equipped with the 132 KW 2.2-litre JTDm engine (one with the 8-speed automatic transmission and the other with the 6-speed manual gearbox). The first sports a Montecarlo Blue livery, Lusso Pack with beige leather interiors and wooden inserts, black brake callipers and 18” diamond alloy wheel rims. The second version features three-coat Trofeo white body paint, tobacco leather interiors, Sport Pack, adjustable panoramic sunroof, red brake callipers and 18” alloy wheel rims. Last but by no means least, the third Giulia Super version marks the début of the new 147 KW 2.0-litre TBi engine, teamed with a new 8-speed Q-Tronic automatic transmission. The exterior of this car stands out for its Imola Titanium livery, black brake callipers and 18” alloy wheel rims, while the interior makes a statement with its Lusso Pack black leather upholstery with wooden inserts. The exhibit is completed by a Giulia Quadrifoglio – the supreme expression of the meccanica delle emozioni (mechanics of emotion) concept – with a Competizione Red livery and a 375 KW 2.9-litre V6 Bi-Turbo Petrol Engine inspired by Ferrari technology and technical skills.

New Giulietta and New Mito

Alfa Romeo’s news does not stop with the eagerly-awaited Giulia; indeed, the brand has undergone a whole makeover. The spotlights at the show will also be trained on the New Giulietta and the New Mito, the two restyled models which present a notable family feeling with the enchanting Giulia, as can be seen in the new nose that features an unprecedented grille and the legendary trefoil nose, arguably one of the most famous and recognisable symbols in the automotive world. The lettering of the names “Giulietta” and “Mito” also winks to that of the “Giulia”, with both cars sporting the refreshed logo of the Alfa Romeo brand.

The ranges of the two new models were thought up and optimised so customers can more simply and quickly pick the version most suited to their inclinations and needs and then customise it with optional equipment and accessories. TheNew Giulietta comes with a host of important innovations, such as the bolder sport characterisation, the unprecedented 88 KW 1.6-litre JTDm turbo diesel engine, paired with the innovative Alfa TCT automatic transmission, and the extremely useful LIVE services on the Uconnect 6.5″ system. On sale from early March across the main European markets, the New Giulietta is displayed in Geneva in two versions: the high-performance 177 KW Veloce 1750 Turbo Petrol version and the 88 KW Super 1.6-litre JTDm version, both with TCT automatic transmission. The exterior of the former is particularly eye-catching, thanks to the new sports bumpers with red inserts, the dark grey finish, the glass roof, the red brake callipers and the new 18” alloy wheel rims. The same sporty imprint has been given to the interior, enhanced by sports seats in leather and Alcantara with red stitching. Alongside the Giulietta Veloce version, curious visitors will be able to get up close and personal with the Super version with tobacco leather seats, 18” alloy wheel rims, chrome-plated exterior trim and a new exhaust pipe.

In a worldwide preview, the New Mito will be débuting in the Alfa Romeo stand, with a host of restyled features, while maintaining its position as small sport car capable of winning over customers attracted by its Italian style and technical excellence, for utter driving satisfaction. The Geneva International Motor Show will be centre stage for the sportier version in the range – the 125 KW Veloce 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo Petrol version and TCT automatic transmission – featuring new Sabelt sports seats with black fabric and Alcantara upholstery. The New Mito will be available across Italy and France from June, and in other countries from September.

4C Coupé and 4C Spider

The limelight will also be shared by the captivating Alfa Romeo 4C, in Coupé and Spider versions, a modern icon of the brand and representing the sports soul written into to the Alfa Romeo DNA: optimum performance and excellent engineering designed for ultimate pleasure to drive in breathtaking style.

Both cars are fitted with the powerful turbocharged all-aluminium direct injection engine with 1,750 cm3 with dual continuous variable valve timing guaranteeing performance levels comparable to those of a supercar: top speed of 257 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, 1.1 g lateral acceleration and 1.25 g maximum braking deceleration.

The supercar spirit is also obvious in the choice of ultralight materials used: carbon fibre for the shell, aluminium for the front and rear chassis framework and SMC (low-density compound) for the bodywork.

The Swiss catwalk will see the likes of a 4C Spider in Stromboli Grey, featuring carbon fibre roll-bar cover as well as the new titanium central dual-mode exhaust system by Akrapovič. In addition, to add a splash of style and enhance light weight and performance levels, the car features burnished finish spoked wheel rims (18″ at the front and 19″ at the rear), as well as carbon fibre exterior components such as the air intakes on the side and front bumper and the door mirrors. Last but not least, the red brake callipers, the red leather sports seats and the leather interiors with carbon fibre trim complete the standard equipment of the convertible on show in Geneva.

The stand will also proudly present the multi award-winning 4C Coupé with a three-coat Trofeo White livery and featuring a roof and carbon fibre elements (such as the air intakes on the side and front bumper, door mirrors and rear spoiler), black brake callipers, titanium central dual-mode exhaust system by Akrapovič and differentiated 5-hole wheel rims (18″ at the front and 19″ at the rear) with burnished finish. Inside, the special sports seats in leather and black microfiber with contrasting red stitching will definitely be eye-catching, also in this case accompanied by leather door panels and dashboard as well as carbon fibre details.

Stand

Alfa Romeo comes back to the Geneva International Motor Show with a renovated display area featuring unprecedented construction details and a sophisticated game of lights that emphasise the major new product features. The Alfa Romeo stand therefore has a striking appearance, backed by the classic red LED backdrop on a black field, the brand’s core styling strengths; traditional glass walls, expressing the high-quality concept inherent in Alfa Romeo’s DNA; along with a sports-based texture for the floor, to emphasise the legendary performance of Alfa cars.

The new Giulia is to be the undisputed star of the show: the three Super versions are housed on a platform outlined by red LED lights and, thanks to an “augmented reality” station, visitors can find out more about the most innovative technological features of the high-performance Giulia Quadrifoglio. Set around the queen bee of the stand, the other models in the range fan out, namely the New Giulietta, the New Mito, the 4C Spider and the 4C Coupé. These extraordinary products confirm how, for over one century, Alfa Romeo cars have been dedicated to those who expect their car to transcend the concept of “useful means of transport” and cross over to that of “real emotions”.

An area of the stand is dedicated to Mopar, the reference brand for services, Customer Care, original parts and accessories for FCA brands. Specifically, the new Alfa Romeo merchandise collection makes its début in Geneva, picking up on the restyled logo in its graphic components. The collection features a selection of items designed specifically with the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, first-class technical products made with high-performance materials such as carbon, aluminium or Nycroteh. Specifically, the collection comprises several lines: from clothing, the main garment being a modular jacket made in rainproof softshell fabric, to leather goods, including a Unisex overnight bag made with high-tech material and leather with brushed metal finish, and even the line of accessories with men’s wallet and specific key rings. Last but not least, the display wall by Mopar features certain accessories dedicated to the Alfa Romeo 4C, Giulietta and Giulia models. In particular, the latter vehicle can sport a carbon and Alcantara steering wheel while the mirror caps and the heel pad are available in carbon.

The Guilia Range

The entire range of the Giulia model – Alfa Romeo’s new paradigm and the ultimate expression of the meccanica delle emozioni or mechanics of emotion concept – will be revealed to all in Geneva for the first time ever. It will be possible to book the new Giulia starting from April in all markets of the EMEA area; the offer includes three trim levels (Giulia, Super and Quadrifoglio), two packs (Lusso and Sport), 18 different interior versions and 13 body colours. In addition, customers can choose from two types of transmission (new 8-speed Q-Tronic automatic or 6-speed manual) and three new engines: the 147 KW 2.0-litre TBi engine, the 110 KW or 132 KW (also in ECO version) 2.2-litre JTDm engine and the 375 KW 2.9-litre V6 BiTurbo Petrol engine.

Whatever the chosen version, the new Giulia is set to be a captivating and beguiling car that conceals five elements which made Alfa Romeo one of the world’s most desirable automotive brands: distinctive Italian design, state-of-the-art, innovative engines, optimal weight distribution, unique technical solutions and the best weight-to-power ratio.

Distinctive Italian design

An Alfa Romeo springs from the perfect balance of heritage, speed and beauty making it the highest expression of Italian style in the automotive world. The new Giulia is no exception.

In particular, the proportions are based on the technical architecture of the entire car: for Alfa Romeo the key elements were the weight balance and rear wheel drive. In order to balance the weights perfectly, the engine and the mechanical parts are arranged between the two axles. This is why the Giulia has very short overhangs, a long bonnet and front wings, a retracted passenger compartment “settled” on the drive wheels and muscular rear wings which visually mark the point where power is unleashed onto the road. All this translates into a very generous wheelbase – the longest in its category – contained in one of the most compact bodies. These proportions draw the dynamic shape of an ellipsis in plan view. In addition, the rounded angles and the enveloping pillars convey momentum to the car creating a “drop-shaped” profile which is reminiscent of the Giulietta Sprint, one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

A second aspect of the Italian style is “simplicity” which enshrouds what is in fact one of the most complex creative processes in industry: designing a car. Indeed, it is up to style to conceal the long, complex work behind a simple, natural line which enhances elegant shapes and sophisticated Italian taste. Alfa Romeo design has always been expressed by means of clean, streaming streaks. For this reason, the new Giulia boasts a strong identity drawn in few simple strokes: a line gouged along the sides which marks the doors and envelops the handles and, naturally, the legendary trefoil nose, possibly the most famous, recognisable style element in automotive history.

Finally, Italian style is characterised by high quality surface finish which means creating rich, harmonious reflections across the volumes. The end result is the new Giulia, a statuesque shape reminiscent of a big cat just about to spring. The same inspiration is found inside the car. Everything is clean, essential and pivots around the driver, like the controls grouped on the small, direct steering wheel designed to adapt to all driving styles. And more. The driver’s position was “cut” like a fabric with a diagonal tunnel, a slightly undulated dashboard and cleverly oriented instruments which convey the impression of a tailor-made suit with hand-crafted care and premium materials chosen for their visual and tactile pleasantness and assembled to make the human touch visible.

Perfect weight distribution and the best weight-to-power ratio

A peculiarity of the new Giulia is the astute management of weights and materials to obtain a perfect distribution across the two axles. This is fundamental to ensure the typical Alfa Romeo driving satisfaction which was reached by tweaking the layout and arranging the heavier elements in the most central position possible. The suspensions are as essential for ride optimisation as weight distribution. In particular, the layout implemented for the Giulia envisages an exclusive double track control arm suspension with semi-virtual steering axis at the front and a 4.5-link suspension with a solution for toe adjustment (Alfa Romeo patent) for the rear axle.

To obtain an excellent weight-to-power ratio, the new Giulia combines extraordinary engine performance and ample use of ultralight materials such as carbon fibre – for the propeller shaft – or aluminium – for the engine and suspensions (including front domes and front and rear frames). Furthermore, the rear crossmember is made of aluminium composite and plastic. The end result is an unladen weight of 1,374 Kg for the 132 KW 2.2-litre Diesel version. In addition, despite all this weight optimisation, the car boasts an excellent torsional rigidity to guarantee quality over time, acoustic comfort and handling even in conditions of extreme stress.

In the Quadrifoglio version, the use of ultralight materials has been extended to other components of the bodywork too: carbon fibre for the bonnet, roof, front splitter, rear nolder and body inserts; aluminium for doors and wheel arches. Furthermore, the braking system was tweaked using aluminium elements and carbon ceramic discs (optional) and the seats have a carbon fibre structural frame (optional). An unladen weight of 1,524 kg was therefore achieved, with an ensuing weight-to-power ratio of less than 3.

State-of-the-art, innovative engines

State-of-the-art, innovative engines are another characterising element of a genuine Alfa Romeo. For this reason, at the time of launching, the new Giulia offers—in addition to the 2.9-litre V6 BiTurbo in the Quadrifoglio version—an unprecedented generation of engines, four petrol and diesel, , that represent the state-of-the-art in terms of Group motoring technology and ranks them at the top of their category for performance and efficiency. All engines are manufactured in Italy at the plants in Termoli (petrol engines) and Pratola Serra (diesel engines), with the main cutting-edge processes and methods used mostly in areas dedicated exclusively to Alfa Romeo engines, in line with the technological excellence and philosophy representative of the brand.

2.0-litre TBi Engine

The new petrol engine fitted on the Giulia has four cylinders in line and is made entirely of aluminium. The particular features of this engine, in addition to the MultiAir electro-hydraulic valve actuator system, include the “2-in-1” supercharging system and the direct injection with a 200-bar high pressure system, which translate to a particularly quick response to the accelerator commands throughout operation and considerably efficient consumption levels. The configuration envisages 147 KW at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 330 Nm at 1,750 rpm, and it is paired with the new 8-speed Q-Tronic automatic transmission.

2.2-litre JTDm Diesel Engine

A brand new engine, the first diesel engine in Alfa Romeo’s history made entirely of aluminium, was also devised for the Diesel versions of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia. With four cylinders in line, this engine stands out for its latest-generation MultiJet II injection system with Injection Rate Shaping (IRS) and operating pressures of 2,000 bar. The variable geometry turbocharger with electric actuator implements “Ball Bearing” technology which minimises response times and at the same time guarantees benefits in terms of efficiency. The balancing countershaft offers the most stylish comfort and driving experience.

Two versions are available, with 132 KW at 3,750 rpm (maximum torque of 450 Nm at 1,750 rpm) also in the ECO version with CO2 emissions of less than 100 g/km – and 110 KW at 4,000 rpm (380 Nm at 1,500 rpm) respectively. For both configurations – teamed with rear-wheel drive – the new 8-speed Q-Tronic automatic transmission is available or, alternatively, the six-speed manual gearbox.

510 KW 2.9-litre BiTurbo Petrol Engine

Exclusive to the Quadrifoglio version, this is a unique engine in terms of technology and performance, destined to become the new benchmark of the brand. Inspired by Ferrari technology and technical skills, the six-cylinder BiTurbo petrol engine is entirely made of aluminium – to minimise the car’s absolute weight, especially on the front axle – and it delivers 375 KW and a torque in excess of 600 Nm, for exhilarating performance: top speed of 307 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.9 seconds and a maximum torque of 600 Nm. Among other things, although the horsepower and torque values are exceptional, the 375 KW 2.9-litre BiTurbo Petrol engine is also best in class in terms of emission levels (198 g/km of CO2 with 6-speed manual transmission) and it is surprisingly affordable to run, thanks to the CEM (Cylinders’ Efficient Management), the electronically-controlled cylinder disabling system.

Innovative, exclusive technical solutions

As a further expression of the Alfa Romeo engineering culture, the design, the build and the choice of materials of the chassis and the suspensions are always perfect. As a consequence, it was decided that electronics should only be used to make the driving experience guaranteed by excellent basic mechanics even more exhilarating. This is demonstrated by the multiple sophisticated systems which, depending on the trim levels of the new Giulia, are offered as standard or on request.

Torque Vectoring (only on Giulia Quadrifoglio)

Thanks to its double clutch, the Torque Vectoring technology allows the rear differential to control torque delivery separately to each wheel. In this manner, power transmission to the road is improved also in low grip conditions. Therefore, the driving is safe and fun without ever having running up against an invasive stability control system.

Integrated Brake System (IBS)

The new Alfa Romeo car introduces in a worldwide preview the innovative electromechanical system which combines stability control and a traditional servo brake. This way, in addition to providing the all-important weight optimisation and reduced pedal vibrations, an instantaneous brake response is guaranteed, and consequent record-breaking stopping distances: 38.5 metres to brake from 100 km/h to 0, considering it drops to less than 32 metres for the Giulia Quadrifoglio with carbon ceramic brake discs.

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)with pedestrian detection

This system automatically slows or brakes the car to avoid an imminent crash. Specifically, the device uses radar sensors and a camera to detect whether the Giulia is approaching another vehicle or an obstacle (including pedestrians) too quickly along its path. The system first warns the driver about the obstacle via an acoustic alarm and, if the driver fails to react quickly, it brakes autonomously to avoid collision.

Active Aero Splitter

Together with an excellent Cx (0.32), a perfect balance of forces on corners and downforce behaviour, the Quadrifoglio version has Active Aero Splitter, a front system which actively manages downforce for higher performance and better grip at high speed.

Alfa DNA and DNA Pro (only on Giulia Quadrifoglio)

The new Giulia also fits a new Alfa DNA selector, which modifies the car’s dynamic behaviour according to the driver’s selection: Dynamic, Natural, Advanced Efficiency (energy efficiency mode implemented for the first time on an Alfa Romeo) and Race (only on Giulia Quadrifoglio).

Chassis Domain Control (only on Giulia Quadrifoglio)

Developed jointly with Magneti Marelli, the Chassis Domain Control (CDC) technology acts like the car’s “brains” and coordinates all the onboard electronics. The system manages the action of the various features – such as the renewed DNA Pro selector, the Torque Vectoring, the Active Aero Splitter, the active suspensions and the ESC – and assigns specific tasks of optimising performance and driving pleasure to each one. More in detail, the CDC adapts the ride in real time making the DNA Pro mappings dynamic according to acceleration and rotation data detected by the sensors. Critical solutions are prevented and managed by informing the specific control units involved in the electronic system of the car in advance: chassis, powertrain, suspensions, braking system, steering, power steering and differential on curves.

Exclusive suspensions

On the front, a new double track control arm suspension with semi-virtual steering axis was developed to optimise the filtering effect and guarantee rapid, accurate steering. This Alfa Romeo exclusive keeps the constant caster trail on corners and can tackle high lateral accelerations as a result of the always-perfect footprint. In any situation and at all speeds, driving the Alfa Romeo Giulia with the most direct steering ratio on the market (11.8) is natural and instinctive. A multi link solution – patented by Alfa Romeo – ensuring top performance, driving pleasure and comfort have been chosen for the rear axle.

8.8” Connect 3D Nav

The 8.8” Connect Nav 3D system on the Alfa Romeo Giulia – developed with Magneti Marelli – offers a sophisticated series of features and functions, including a next-generation HMI human-machine interface. The system is mostly controlled by means of the Rotary Pad and by using the 8.8” high-resolution display integrated in the dashboard. In addition, thanks to “optical bonding” technology, the user benefits from an excellent level of visualisation and readability on the display.

Connect 3D Nav is equipped with an advanced voice recognition system for complete connectivity with all mobile devices (mobile phones, smartphones, tablets with Apple iOS and Android operating systems). In addition to allowing phone calls using the Bluetooth connection in hands-free mode, the infotainment system plays audio contents from USB device and smartphone by means of Bluetooth technology, in addition to managing the DAB digital radio and the Hi-Fi digital audio. Finally, the system implements navigation functions with high-resolution 3D maps. The system is quick to calculate routes and can be used even if the GPS signal is missing by exploiting Dead Reckoning technology. It also allows to update the TomTom maps via USB and view driving system information regarding driving style and the display of the type of ride tied to the Alfa DNA Pro selector.

Human-machine interface

The passenger compartment of the new car offers the best in terms of quality, safety, equipment and comfort with a specific, profoundly Alfa Romeo style element: the centrality of the driver.

Not by chance, all the main controls, including the start button, are incorporated in the steering wheel while the human-machine interface consists of two simple, user-friendly knobs for adjusting the Alfa DNA selector and the 8.8” Connect 3D Nav infotainment system.

Dashboard

Depending on the trim levels with 3.5” or 7” colour display, the device fitted behind the driving wheel offers the driver all the essential information about the car. Organised in four screenshots, the visible contents depend on the DNA mode selected by the driver and offer readings of the lateral acceleration, fuel consumption, efficiency and suggested gear shifts.

Sound Theatre by Harman Kardon

The sophisticated Sound Theatre system by Harman Kardon, which satisfies the desire for superior, detail-rich audio output, is débuting on Alfa Romeo Giulia. The heart of the system is a 900 W 12-channel class D amplifier which secures high performance but is compact at the same time. The amplifier distributes clear sound through a system of 14 speakers inside the car for superior listening quality. Logic 7® technology is used to obtain a surround effect from 5.1 different high-resolution sources and harmoniously uniform stereo playback. With this sound system, occupants can experience the premium quality for which Harman Kardon is famed.

Front and rear light clusters: a compendium of style excellence and technology

Made by Magneti Marelli in partnership with Alfa Romeo, the front and rear light clusters on the new Giulia reinforce the stylish design and ergonomic silhouette of the car, identifying it at first glance. Specifically, the LED rear light clusters enhance the rear end in a uniquely distinctive manner, in addition to providing significant benefits in terms of safety thanks to quicker activation in the event of braking compared to a traditional light bulb.

Similarly, design and ergonomics characterise the headlights, which are available in three different versions: halogen lamps or implementing latest-generation Xenon technology with 25W and 35W module, fitted with high light tone lamp (equal to 4500°K), capable of increasing the light flux and light diffusion with energy saving and night visibility which, in the case of the 35W module, increases by 200% with respect to normal halogen headlights. Furthermore, they guarantee greater safety because an obstacle can be seen at least one second earlier, which is equal to an advantage of 28 metres of braking distance when travelling at 50 km/h.

The 35W Xenon headlights use AFS technology (Adaptive Front-lighting System) to redirect the light beam while cornering and improve visibility.

Lastly, the daylight running lights (DRL), cornering light, side lights and direction indicators use LED technology for better fuel efficiency and maximum performance.

Driving assist systems

The new Giulia features the very best in terms of driving assistance currently on the market. Just consider the multiple sensors fitted throughout the car to guarantee more peace of mind and a safer drive. This is demonstrated by the Forward Collision Warning that detects whether the Giulia is approaching another vehicle or an obstacle on the same trajectory too quickly and it warns or assists the driver to avoid impact or attenuate the consequences. What’s more, the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system, complete with pedestrian protection, monitors the area at the front of the car to avoid collisions with pedestrians on the vehicle’s path. In addition, the new Giulia features Adaptive Cruise Control (optional) which reduces the speed set when the vehicle approaches another vehicle in the same lane or when another vehicle joins the lane it is travelling on. The system goes back to the speed set when the vehicle in front accelerates or moves to another lane. Lastly, the package of driving assist systems wouldn’t be complete without the Lane Departure Warning that detects unintentional lane changes and the Blind-spot Monitoring device (optional) that assists the driver during lane changes and when overtaking or being overtaken by vehicles hidden from view.

Line-up

The line-up of the new Giulia upon launching comprises three trim levels (Giulia, Super and Quadrifoglio), two packs (Lusso and Sport), 18 different interior versions and 13 body colours. The exclusive sporty outfit corresponds to an exclusive interior ambience packed with premium quality accents in which all details are carefully picked: New Giulietta is the most developed expression of Italian style. On the inside, the sportiest Giulietta Veloce trim level has new leather and Alcantara sports seats with integrated head restraints embellished with contrasting red stitching and “Alfa Romeo” written on the head restraints. Standard are also the contoured leather steering wheel with contrasting red stitching and the carbon look finish dashboard surround and door panels, all complemented by specific matte grey inserts.

The sports characterisation is equally strong on the Giulietta and Giulietta Super versions. The first has grey and black fabric seats, a one-of-a-kind matte black dashboard, leather steering wheel and new black inserts on the tunnel and door pulls. Even bolder is the super trim level with new Alfa Romeo trademark grey and black fabric “cannelloni” seats. Premium leather seats are available on both trim levels on demand.

New 1.6 JTDm 88 KW TCT engine

The 1.6 JTDm 88 KW debuting on New Giulietta is paired with Alfa TCT to combine the well-known, typical advantages of a turbo diesel engine with the comfort that only an automatic transmission can offer and the responsive shifting of a twin clutch, for top efficiency and driving pleasure.

Equipped in this way, the new car delivers excellent performance – top speed of 195 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 10.2 seconds – while being fuel-efficient and environment-friendly at the same time: 3.8 l/100 km and just 99 g/km of CO2 on the combined cycle with the ECO version.

New addition to the second-generation MultiJet turbo diesel family, the 1.6 litre engine of New Giulietta delivers a top power of 88 KW at 3750 rpm and fits a small-size turbocharger capable of expressing top-in-class torque (320 Nm at 1750 rpm) for the best flexibility. A peculiarity of the 1.6 JTDm is certainly the third-generation Common Rail injection system which uses innovative injectors and balanced hydraulic servo valves to control very accurately the amount of fuel injected into the combustion chamber in a particularly quick and flexible injection sequence.

The Alfa TCT, now also with 1.6 JTDm 88 KW engine, can work in fully automatic or sequential mode. The up and down positions of the accurate and ergonomic gear stick are controlled manually by the driver. Shift paddles on the steering wheel can be chosen as an alternative. The Alfa DNA selector can also be used to select the dynamic performance of the car by operating on engine torque, brakes using the Pre-Fill function, TCT shifting logics, accelerator response, ESC control system, the Alfa Q2 electronic self-locking differential and the ASR traction control. The driver can activate three driving modes according to road conditions and driving style.

In brief, the engine line-up of New Giulietta now features four turbo petrol engines (1.4 Turbo Petrol 88 KW, 1.4 Turbo MultiAir 110 KW, 1.4 Turbo MultiAir 125 KW TCT and 1750 Turbo Petrol 176 KW TCT) and four turbo diesel engines: 1.6 JTDm 88 KW with manual transmission or TCT, 2.0 JTDm 110 KW and 2.0 JTDm 128 KW TCT. Finally, there is the bi-fuel (LPG and petrol) 1.4 TB 88 KW.

New Alfa Romeo Mito

The New Mito will be débuting at the Geneva Motor Show. The model is reasserting itself in many ways, while maintaining its position as small sports car capable of winning over customers attracted by its Italian style and technical excellence offering maximum driving satisfaction in total safety.

Additionally, after débuting on the Giulia, the refreshed brand logo and new name lettering are affixed to the compact Alfa Romeo for the first time.

An additional affinity with the Giulia model is range rationalisation. The line-up now includes three trim levels (Mito, Super and Veloce) and two specific packs (Veloce and Lusso).
