On Tuesday afternoon at 15h41 Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit responded to a collision on the Victoria embankment in Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that the taxi with a driver, passenger and the conductor collided head-on with a heavy goods truck . Exact detail to the cause however will form part of the South African Police investigation.

While the rescue team worked hand in hand to extricate the injured using the Jaws of Life, they firstly remove the doors and then pushed the dash of the vehicle off the trapped patients so that they can be removed from the twisted metal.

Medics stabilised the injured at the scene before they transported them to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
