Three suspects arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen property.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit Officers, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, arrested three male suspects aged between eighteen (18) and twenty-nine (29) for possession of an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen property.
Acting on a BOLO (Be on the lookout) alert, Officers tracked down a silver Hyundai Tucson linked to a house robbery on Southey Street, Farrarmere. The suspects were cornered on Windermere Street. A search of the vehicle revealed a 9mm Barreta firearm with filed-off serial numbers, an empty magazine, a red lawn machine, and a generator. These items are believed to have been stolen during the robbery.
The suspects were detained at Benoni Police Station, facing charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen property. They are expected to appear in court soon.
