As the festive season draws to an end and most holidaymakers make their return to the province, major routes leading into Gauteng are expected to experience heavy traffic volumes over the coming days.

To ensure road safety and traffic flow, Gauteng Department of Community Safety Acting HoD, Mr Roche Mogorosi, joined various law enforcement operations conducted along major freeways, including the N1 Phumlani Toll Plaza, N1 Grassmere Toll Plaza and the N3 De Hoek Toll Plaza.

These operations form part of efforts to monitor traffic, promote compliance with road traffic laws and reduce road crashes during the busy return period.

Motorists, passengers and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution, plan their journeys responsibly, and obey the rules of the road at all times.
