Police in the Free State focuses on identified crime hotspot areas as part of #OperationShanela II.

The police in the Free State Province continued to stamp the authority of the State through the execution of various operational concepts in different identified crime hotspot areas as part of #OperationShanela II.

Visible Policing Unit members from Bayswater, Bloemspruit and Bayswater in Mangaung Metro, assembled a crime prevention roadblock on the R702 Dewetsdorp Road. During the operation, the team, together with the Department of Correctional Service seized;

● 70 full Mandrax tablets
● 7 transparent plastic bags containing dried leaves of dagga weighing at 0.0896 kilograms
● 35 black plastics wrappings of dagga weighing 1.174 kilograms, and
● 4 bankies of Chrystal Meth weighing at 0.005 kilograms

Firearms liquor and second-hand goods compliance inspections were also carried out in Mangaung Metro and Xhariep District.

Planned Operation Shanela II actions will continue in different districts throughout the Free State Province.
