House robbery suspects arrested
On Wednesday, 07 January 2026, at around 09;40, Johannesburg Flying Squad members were busy patrolling when a request for backup from a security officer was received for a cell phone taken in a house robbery in Azaadville, next to Kagiso.
Members proceeded to Edith and Cavell Street in Hillbrow, where a White VW Polo was stopped, and seven cellphones positively linked to the house robbery were recovered. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest and took the members to Bara taxi rank where a second suspect was arrested. Both suspects led the police to two premises in Vlalfontein, next to Lenasia South were two unlicensed firearms and ammunitions, police uniform and drugs with the street value of nine thousand Rand (R9000) were recovered. The suspects were detained at Kagiso SAPS and charged with possession of stolen property, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of drugs and the vehicle was booked at the pound for safekeeping and further investigation
Both suspects aged between 25 and 33 will be appearing in court soon.
